This standard comprises the terms of the most important types of glasses and glass systems together with short comments and indications. Glass types according to this standard are glasses and glass systems differentiated in respect of their compositions and their chemical and physical properties. On grounds of clearness no further subdivision was made and, therefore, many of the known binary, ternary as well as multicomponent glass systems were not taken into consideration. General and special terms are indicated.
