Summary

The standard specifies safety requirements and testing of cabinets for handling cytostatic drugs and other CMR drugs. The cabinets are used in hospitals, pharmacies and pharmaceutical industry laboratories for the preparation of cytostatics before use. Safety for the handled product as well as for the handling personal has to be guaranteed. The standard describes the necessary product requirements and is targeted to manufacturers and users of the cabinets as well as to test houses.

Notes

A transition period, as set out in DIN 12980 (2016-10) and DIN 12980 (2017-05), exists until 2017-04-01.
