This standard specifies general principles of assessment and planning, and applies to buildings of rescue services, particularly to rescue stations as well as locations for emergency and rescue vehicles (parkings/on-demand parking spaces). This standard applies to rescue stations to be newly established. In case of supplementary extensions in existing rescue stations it is only valid for sections to be newly constructed. Multistorey buildings (for example due to local availability of limited plot sizes) are considered separately, and to be established in line and accordance with this standard.
