Lead and cadmium in metallic items with contact to the body - Part 1: Extraction method
Summary
This document describes a method for the extraction of lead and cadmium from metallic items with contact to the body (e. g. Jewellery, ear pins, piercings, wrist watches, accessories on clothing) for the determination of lead and cadmium. The method is restricted to the metallic parts, which are soluble in the acid used for extraction. The standards series 13094 has three parts. Part 1 applies for the extraction method. The parts 2 and 3 applied to two different methods for measurement of content of lead or cadmium by Flame atom absorption spectrometry (DIN 13094-2) or optical emission spectrometry in inductive coupled plasma (DIN 13094-3).
