This standard covers planning, installation, operation and maintenance of fire hose systems and pillar fire hydrant and underground fire systems, including a point of delivery for water for firefighting in accordance with DIN 1988-600, water systems for fire extinguishing with non-potable water and 'dry' water systems fo fire extinguishing which are installed at private places. For the connection of these systems to the potable water supply DIN 1988-600 applies.
