Small fire extinguishing systems - Requirements, testing
Summary
This standard specifies requirements for small fire extinguishing systems which are limited regarding use, extinguishing media and flooding quantity, e. g. fire extinguishing systems for local application, e. g. machinery, technical equipment, computer server cabinets, cooking appliances. This standard contains terms and definitions, product information, describes structure and modes of operation of systems and gives instructions for installation, conditioning and maintenance of systems and requirements for test methods of components and systems. This standard does not cover extinguishing systems, - which are intended to protect more than one object with a common flooding extinguishing media supply with selector; - which deliver extinguishing media intermittently; - used as total flooding systems; - for underground mines; - for German Federal Armed forces; - on seegoing vessels and crafts and swimming devices of the inland navigation; - in the area of aerospace; - in automotive vehicles for passenger transportation and for motorsports; - for explosion suppression; - for systems for which following the hazard by extinguishing media a pre-discharge-warning time has to be meet.
