Summary
This standard applies for boats which are used of fire and rescue services with a maximum body length of 8 meters and at a temperature range between -15 °C and +60 °C and according to design category D and C of the EU-Directive 94/25/EC (including amendments) for sport boats. This document applies to boats that are used by fire and rescue services in conducting rescue operations and technical assistance. It also applies to boats that are used for fire fighting operation, if appropriately equiped.
Notes
DIN 14961 (2001-03) and DIN 14961/A1 (2004-01) remain valid alongside this standard until 2013-09-30.*A transition period, as set out in DIN 14961 (2025-09), exists until 2026-02-28.
