Summary

DIN 18531-1 specifies rules for the execution of water-proof coverings of roofs which generally apply to flat roofs. It comprises definition of terms, requirements on materials and performance as well as hints for proper workmanship. In conjunctin with DIN 18531-2, -3 and -4 this standard applies to the design and the construction of waterproofing for used and unused roofs as well as to balconys and walkways.
