This standard is applicable to powder stream handpieces and the correspondent use of powder, which are used in dentistry at the patient for removing of derelicts, colourings and films for cleaning and polishing of teeth. It is also applicable for powder stream handpieces and corrsponding powder for cavity preparation, treatment of bonding surfaces, and for removing of cements which are used extra oral. Independent of the design this standard specifies requirements, test methods, manufacturer's instructions, labelling and packaging. This standard is not applicable for prophy handpieces, air driven or electrically driven scalers or multi function handpieces (syringes).
