This Standard applies to the uniform and graphical presentation of the pedological profile. This includes the determination of signatures, symbols, abbreviations and their arrangement. The standard discusses basic terminology for qualitative and quantitative interpretations of pedological profiles, as well as rules for the differential presentation of existing coherencies in the soil of interest. This standard aims to provide the reader with a quick overview of basic pedological findings and comparison of various pedological profiles by means of a few reliable and memorable symbols that also allow the presentation of the soils' characteristics.
