The standard applies to pneumatic stowing pipes used underground in coalfaces for cycling the material for stowage by means of an air-stream into the gobareas to be consolidated. By stipulating nominal widths, lenghts, and collars it is assured that independently on the make of the pipes, the pipes can be connected either by clamp-type or box-type connectors of any make.
