This standard spplies to round timber used in mine support as props for canopies. Props are made or round timber. They are used for simple and composite mine support and serve for taking up support loads e.g. between roof and floor in coalfaces and roadways.*Canopies are made of unsquared or unilateralysquared round timber. They mainly serve for securing the roof between the props and for transmitting the prop support forces to the adjacent strate or the floor.
