Auxiliary ventilation in mining is always necessary, when underground working places are not connected to the main air current. The auxiliary ventilation is done with sheet ventilation ducts or with plastic ventilation ducts; those are joined to a fan. This standard applies to requirements and tests of dimensional accuracy, strength and impermeability of ventilation ducts for mining according to DIN 21905 and DIN 21906.
