Summary

This standard applies to standardized and non-standardized machine taps and cold forming taps, long type, used to manufacture threads with nominal diameter exceeding 0,90 mm up to 113,00 mm. The general plan contains for some ranges of nominal diameters - dependent on the gradient, number of turns and total length/max. length of thread - two different shanks: reinforced shank (see e. g. DIN 371) and tapered shank (see e. g. DIN 376).
