The stipulations of the standard apply to mining-specific geological mapping and corresponding legends. The standard contains the necessary symbols, abbreviations and terms to be used for marking sedimentary rocks and their inclusions on large-scale mining specific maps and plans. The number of symbols contained can be complemented, if necessary, by further symbols designed according to the basic principles of this standard.
