In dimensional metrology the quality of auxiliaries is of particular importance, as ithas a great influence on the results of measurement and their uncertainties. Often however there are only insufficient informations about this matter, because there are not always values of characteristics specified or known and there are only few types of auxiliaries standardized. This standards intends to enable the user to make specifications for various auxiliaries that are not separately standardized and to have an easier choice on an auxiliary and a better estimation of its influence on the result in relation to a given task. For a number of characteristics different grades of accuracy are made available which have to be chosen and specified according to the type of auxiliary and the application.
