Summary
Flameproof protective clothing are used in the mining to protect against explosions, flames and other flame jets. This standard describes the additional requirements which are requested to protective hoods besides the safety requirements of the standard DIN 23320-1 out of DIN EN 469.

DIN 23320-5 (1988-05) remains valid alongside this standard until 2005-03-31.*A transition period, as set out in DIN 23320-5 (2014-10), exists until 2015-03-31.
