Summary

This standard applies to rooms surrouded by concrete shieldings (hot cells) intended for use during normal operation without remote handling devices. Normal operation consists in general of chemical processes relating to radioactive materials or of storage of liquid radioactive materials (i.e. intermediate products, waste). Such cells are defined in the standard as processing and storage cells. This standard defines requirements for such cells.
