This standard is intended to apply to the design, construction and operation of primary coolant clean-up plants (including degassing) in nuclear power plants with light water reactors. In this function the plant has to remove fission and activation products from the primary coolant; play a part in the maintenance of the water quality specified.*This standard specified the boundary conditions for the design. When selecting the type of treatment, familiar methods such as ion-exchange, filtration and degassing are used.
