The document is applied to carbon fibre filament yarns having a high modulus of elasticity and high strength in accordance with DIN 65184 and LN 29964. The carbon fibre filament yarns are used for the manufacture of semifinished products and the reinforcement of parts made of metal plastics and ceramic materials polyacrylic nitrile filament yarns are being used as base materials which are transfered into carbon fibre filament yarns by a controlled solid place pyrolysis.
