Summary

The values of human body dimensions given in this standard are valid for persons without clothing, from the Federal Republic of Germany and for Italien, Yugoslavian and Turkish workers in the Federal Republic of Germany. To characterize the variability of the values, the standard gives the fifth and the ninety-fifth percentile as well as the median (fiftieth percentile). That means that persons who belong to the smallest and to the largest five percent (measured on the body height) of the population are not included in this standard.
