This standard acts as an aid in the design of workplaces in manufacturing areas (e.g. machine, assembly workplaces), to be precise, for the height, width and depth dimensions of work places at which work is performed when seated and/or when standing, and also for the adjustment range of the seat and/or foot support height for adaption to various body dimensions of those employed in the manufacturing area. These recommendations describe basic principles of measures which shall base on the latest ergonomic researches and on practical experiences.
