The document specifies a chemical method for the determination of 15 selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in sludge and sediment with mass fraction wi = 0,05 mg per kg dry solids mT. This method can be used for determination of PAH, which not mentioned in the document, provided that the correctness is covered. Two methods for the preparation of sludge and sediment are described. By method A the original sample and by method B the dried sample is extracted. Afterwards the PAH are separated by HPLC and identified and quantified by fluorescence detection.
