The document describes a chemical method for the determination of polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofuranes in sludges and sediments in the range from 1 to 10 nanogram per kilogram. Radioactively labelled standards are added to the sample, which then will be extracted with toluol. The PCDD and PCDF are separated by capillary gas chromatography and determined quantitative by mass spectrometry.
