DIN 4074-5:2008-12

This standard is applicable for sawn hard wood for components, which must be measured according to their strength. It specifies grading characteristics and classes as a precondition for the specification and application of calculation values for the verification of limiting strength and usability according to DIN 1052 or DIN 1074. Grading may be done by two methods: - visually with grading classes ( according to clause 5), - machine grading with strength classes (according to clause 6). For special use of timber special standards are applicable regarding the strength grading: DIN 68326 and DIN EN 131-2 for wooden ladders, DIN 15147 for flat pallets.
