Geotechnical measurements - Part 2: Extensometer and convergence tape measurements.
Summary
This Standard applies to displacement measurements which are carried out in the field in connection with investigations in soil and rock masses according to DIN 4020, DIN EN 1997-1 and EN 1997-2 and at or in structures by means of extensometers, including tape extensometers. It is to be applied in association with DIN 4107-1. In particular, this Standard applies to field measurements carried out for: - monitoring of the stability of geotechnical structures ahead of, during and after construction (e. g. natural slopes, slope cuts, embankments, excavation walls, foundations, dams, refuse dumps, tunnels); - monitoring of displacements in soil and rock (e. g. for comparison of measured and predicted values in connection with the Observational Design method in accordance with DIN 1054 and DIN EN 1997-1, and for checking of the geotechnical design values); - deduction of geotechnical design values (e. g. trial loading; trial tunnelling).
Notes
Applies in conjunction with DIN 4107-1 (2011-01)
