With this standard uniform terms and definitions are determined for steam turbines. In order to take into account the technical development of steam turbines also in the terminology, in particular the term 'partial turbine' was introduced for the structural order of high pressure part, intermediate pressure part and low pressure part, and the terms used so far: 'two-cylinder or multi-cylinder' are replaced by these definitions. Furthermore, the English, French and Spanish translations of the terms were adopted in this standard.
