Summary

Carbon-based layer systems for the purposes of the present document are layered systems, which consist of at least two distinguishable deposits layers, wherein at least one of the functional layers is an amorphous carbon layer according to VDI 2840 and ISO. The carbon layer may also be a gradient in extension of the approach described in VDI 2840 and ISO.
