DIN 4862:2018-10

This standard specifies a method for acid / pressure digestion of ash residues after combustion of carbon and graphite materials. The resulting analytical solutions are used to determine the elemental contents and these determination methods are not part of this standard. Note 1 The standard is tested for carbon and graphite materials with ash contents >= 200 mg/kg.Note 2 This method is an alternative to melt digestion (eg according to ISO 14435 [3] or ASTM D5600 [4]) with the following advantages: lower salt load of the analytical solution and reduction of the risk of contamination and thus better determination limits.
