DIN 55426:2015-12

This document specifies a test method for evaluating the friction behaviour of film when being pressed under a high force, for example in fill and seal packaging machines. This method is particularly suitable when the method specified in DIN EN ISO 8295:2004-10 does not produce results that are not meaningful enough for different types of film with various sliding properties when used in such packaging machines. The method specified here differs from that in DIN EN ISO 8295:2004-10 primarily in that there is a higher pressing force applied with a point load. This method can also be performed using a heated table in order to test the friction behaviour of film exposed to heat and high pressure, for example on heated guide tables on which the packaging is not fully laid.
