This standard specifies a test method which describes the measurement of leakages in flexible packaging. The packaging may be empty or filled with product. With this method, leakage rates can be determined independently of the size of the specimen and the gas concentration in the specimen. The test method is destructive. The process is suitable for the testing of samples in packaging development, quality assurance as well as for monitoring in the ongoing production of pre-packaged products.
