Entertainment technology - Machinery installations - Part 1: Safety requirements and inspections.
Summary
This standard applies to mechanical equipment in places of assembly as well as in events and production for theatrical representation. Establishments of this type are, for example, theater, and multi-purpose halls, studios for film, television and radio, game-planning and performance areas in the following facilities: - Concert halls, - Schools, - Exhibitions, - Bars, - Discotheques, - Open-air stages and - Spaces for shows, concerts, cabarets, music halls. Machinery installations are designed for use in events and production set up technical equipment and facilities, which are used for lifting and lowering, holding and driving of loads (eg, decorative parts, trusses, lighting, sound and visual technology equipment) . Both the movement of persons with these facilities, as well as staying under stationary and moving loads are allowed. This standard applies to facilities with guided and unguided carrying or lifting devices. Exemplary mechanical equipment list: - Lighting and Oberlichtzug; - Lighting storm moved; - Projection screen (hand-and machine-operated); - Mobile stage podium; - Stage carriage; - Turntable and disc; - Airframe (flight equipment); - Free rides, slides and cassettes; - Investment horizon; - Orchestra pit; - Movable bridge assembly; - Mobile portal system; - Prospect camp podium; - Prospektzug (hand-and power-operated); - Hoist; - Hall podium; - Tiltable stage floor; - Side and Hinterbühnentor; - No verse direction. This standard also applies to safety-related systems that serve the immediate threats and defenses used in a comparable threat in the aforementioned establishments. Exemplary list of safety systems: - Smoke extraction device; - Curtain. This function has the appropriate safety priority. This standard applies to equipment with new technologies and custom that are not specifically named, but are used in an identical operation. This standard does not apply to: - Mechanical equipment to be used as an artistic device and - Free trains (payload of 20 kg). This standard also addresses the information to be exchanged between producers and users and the required information about the intended use of the mechanical equipment. The significant hazards covered in this document are identified in Section 4.
