This standard is applicable to measurement of fiber optic components and products for image and data transmission (distances up to 100 m) as well as for transmission of light and optical radiation in the near infrared and ultraviolet spectral range. The standard is not applicable to fiber optic components and products, intended for telecommunication and data transmission over distances greater than 100 m . Purpose of this standard is to fix a standardised procedure to determine the acceptance angle of light guides.
