This standard is applicable for measurement of fiber optic components and products for image and data transmission (distances up to 100 m) as well as for transmission of light and optical radiation in the near infrared and ultraviolet spectral range. The standard is not applicable for fiber optic components and products, intended for telecommunications and data transmission for distances greater than 100 m . This standard specifies a method to determine the visual defects of light and image guides.
