This standard applies to the testing of multimodal optical fibers for power, image and data transmission (distances up to 100 m) in the spectral range of 180 nm - 800 nm It does not apply for multimodal optical fibers, which are intended for communication and data transfer distances > 100 m. Purpose of this standard is to establish a uniform test method for determining the UV resistance of optical fibers.
