This standard lays down the terms and definitions of the various types of circular knitting machines. In detail the following types of machines are taken in consideration: RL-circular knitting machines, RR-circular knitting machines and LL-circular knitting machines. Furthermore the difference between small and large circular knitting machines is given. Other paragraphs of this standard deal with knitting elements, thread guiding devices, fabric tension and fabric take-up devices as well as the patterning mechanisms.
