Summary
This standard specifies the characteristics of thread inserts, with MJ thread, locked, screw-locking, corrosion-resisting steel used together with screws and bolts of <= 1100 MPa nominal tensile strength for temperatures up to 315 °C with surface treatment according to code letter D and those for temperatures up to 425 °C with surface treatment according to code letter U for aerospace applications. The shear strength of the material into which the thread insert will be assembled shall be 260 MPa.
