This standard specifies the characteristics of press nuts, with MJ thread, closed type, self-locking, corrosion-resisting steel used together with screws and bolts of <= 1100 MPa nominal tensile strength for temperatures up to 315 °C with surface treatment according to code letter D and those for temperatures up to 425 °C with surface treatment according to code letter U for aerospace applications.
