This standard specifies the methods of test sieving procedure. In test sieving methods hand and machine sieving is distinguished as well as dry and wet sieving. Due to the numerous kinds of test sieving machines used in practice, detaillied rules can be given for the hand sieving methods only. The various sieving methods are differentiated according to the particle size which are to determined, by the sieving time, the kind of sieve movement and by the choice of the sieves and the auxiliary equipment.
