Information processing; interface for a transaction-oriented system-kernel

Summary

This standard defines the functions of a system kernel realizing an execution environment for the programs of a transactionoriented application system (short: TAS). A typical example of a TAS is a reservation system.*TAS kernels are often called DB/DC-systems (database/data communications-systems). A KDCS-TAS kernel is essentially a DC-subsystem; which is also called a TP monitor (teleprocessing monitor).*The functions of a TAS kernel allow application program runs access to the libraries of application programs and of terminal formats, short-term and long-term data-storage, chaining of program runs, parameter passing to programm runs, and formatoriented message exchange with terminals. A TAS kernel in particular supports the formation of recovery blocks.*The standard contains an informal and a formal description (petrined-like model) of the KDCS-TAS kernel.
