Summary

This standard applies to beverage containers with a capacity of up to 50 litre, consisting of two cylindrical deep-drawn elements (shells) joined by welding. It covers containers rated for an operating pressure up to 7 bar. The containers are used as returnable packaging. Beverage containers in accordance with this standard are preferably used for non-alcoholic beverages. This standard specifies the quality requirements with respect to material, constancy of volume and dimensional stability.

Notes

A transition period, as set out in DIN 6647-2 (2020-07), exists until 2020-12-31.
