Fixed guard rails on deck of sea-going passenger ships.

Summary

This standard specifies the type of rails on free decks of passenger ships taking account of the rules of the International Freeboard Convention of 1966, and the safety regulations for marine enterprises (UVV-See) of See-Berufsgenossenschaft. The rails in accordance with this document differ from those on cargo ships mainly by abandoning intermediate rails in favour of chords and vertical stays.

DIN 81706 (2007-06) remains valid alongside this standard until 2015-02-28.
