For the thick-walled tubes of the ventilation plants components on deck of seagoing vessels, solid flange connections are required which make the application of standardized flanges, as they ar used for general ventilation plants, impossible. The flanges specified in this standard meet the special requirements in ship's operations. They are particularly provided for the connection of ventilator heads, deck pieces and ventilator houses.
