DIN 89250:2014-10

This standard applies to junction boxes which are preferably used in shipbuilding. They consist of a surface-mounted casing and a lid. Usually they are fitted with a junction insert according to DIN 89300. They are designed for application with shielded and unshielded electrical cables, e. g. type MGG according to DIN 89160, type A according to VG 95218-13 or type C according to VG 95218-28 and similar cable designs and with insulated wires with a nominal cross-section up to 2,5 mm2. Annex A (informative) contains a guideline about the application on vessels of the Deutsche Marine.
