DIN 985:1987-05

The standard covers the hexagon nuts with prevailing torque element (prevailing torque type locknuts) which due to their over all heights are only loadable within the limits according to DIN 267, part 4. Instead of these nuts, in future, units according to DIN 6924 (ISO nuts) shall be used which are completely loadable within the meaning of DIN 898 part 2. For this reason, DIN 985 is not meant for new designs.
