The standard defines the requirements of liquid applied internal linings, epoxy and epoxy-modified, for the corrosion protection of steel tubes. The lining shall consist normally of one layer of liquid product, applied by spray airless technique after surface preparation. All or some of the requirements of this standard can apply to the linings of fittings, if agreed by the purchaser and the coater. The choice of the lining and its limits of use depend on the type of product used, the pipe laying conditions, the temperature and the chemical composition of the fluid. The coating in this standard can be applied to longitudinally or spirally welded and to seamless tubes used for the construction of pipelines for conveying liquids and gases.
