Summary
This European Standard applies to barking drums consisting of drum, drive, power transmission elements, supporting wheels and control intended for use in barking plants for paper making and shall be used in connection with EN 1034-1:2000. It deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events relevant to barking drums when they are used as intended and under conditions which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer. This standard is not applicable to the saws and conveyers for wood and bark used in barking plants.
