On the basis of this European standard data cabinets are exposed to a fire either for 60 min or 120 min and the temperature is measured up to 24 hours after the fire. The maximum temperature increase of the 'P-classes' (S 60 P/S 120 P) is 150 K, 'D-classes' (S 60 D/S 120 D) is 50 K with 85 % humidity and 'DIS-classes' (S 60 DIS/S 120 DIS) is 30 K with 85 % humidity. In a second test the cabinet is dropped from 9,15 m height. Diskette inserts are installed in a data cabinet to decrease the maximum temperature of a 'P-cabinet' even further.
