Summary

The document applies to centrifuges aiming at separation of liquid/solid/solid or at least two of these substances. Excluded are centrifuges with a kinetic energy of less than 200 Joule, domestic and laboratory centrifuges. It gives requirements for minimising the risk of mechanical, ergonomical and electrical hazards. Excluded are for example hazards from microbiological, flammable and explosive substances. The document also covers requirements for noise measurement.

DIN EN 12547 (1999-04) remains valid alongside this standard until 2009-12-28.
