DIN EN 12758:2011-04

This European Standard assigns sound insulation values to all transparent, translucent and opaque glass products, described in the European Standards for basic, special basic or processed glass products, when intended to be used in glazed assemblies in buildings, and which exhibit properties of acoustic protection, either as a prime intention or as a supplementary characteristic. The 2002 edition of the standard has been thoroughly revised and restructured both technically and editorially. This applies in particular to the clauses 'Test methods' (now clause 5) and 'Typical performance data' (now clause 7) which have been supplemented by the addition of the clause 'Sound insulation rating and classification' (clause 6). Three new tables on sound transmission losses for three different references have also been added. Requirements concerning the reference curves and additional specifications have been included in the clause on test methods.
